Blossoming
About
Fragrant flowers and young tea buds come together
to create a blossom in your cup.
Each blossom is a small work of art, meticulously hand-crafted to unfurl into an elegant display when infused in warm water. Delicate flowers scent the tea while releasing their aroma to make for a soothing, delightful drinking experience.
Crafting
Using silk thread, tea craftsman take over fifty white tea buds and intricately tie them by hand around delicate flowers.
Young, supple tea buds are chosen to create blossoming teas. Various flower blossoms can be used, depending on the visual effect and flavor the tea maker wishes to create. These tight bundles may infuse to reveal simple, yet elegant peony shapes or release a chain of flowers. Some blossoms may be further enhanced through scenting.
Quality
While blossoming teas generally consist of quality tea buds because of the labor involved in making them, blossoms made with young white tea are preferred over those made with green tea.
White tea buds create a smooth infusion without astringency, and allow the floral elements of the blossom to shine.
If made with a white tea, blossoming teas in their unopened form should not appear overly dark, but have a light, silvery sheen to them. When open, tea buds and flower blossoms should remain whole and intact without any broken pieces.
