From Zhejiang Province, China, Celadon Pearl is a summer harvested green tea that is tightly rolled in the style of a traditional Gunpowder. Unlike less expensive gunpowder greens, however, Celadon Pearl forgoes the long roasting that would typically give it a darker color and more robust flavor. The result is a tea that is creamy, robust and full flavored.
Though lacking in subtle floral notes and smooth mouth feel of earlier harvest green teas, Celadon Pearl makes a good everyday tea.

Late harvest rolled green teas are somewhat difficult to brew. Water temperature needs to be high enough to open the rolls, but not so high to accentuate the astringency of a later harvest.
We recommend using water that's higher than what is usually recommended for early harvest greens, but brewing shorter infusions.
