White tea buds are meticulously hand-sewn around the brilliant orange of a solitary lily flower and a small amount of osmanthus flowers. Water opens each blossom, revealing the lily and releasing a flurry of diminutive osmanthus blossoms.
Both beautiful and delicious, the steeped tea tastes like dried sweet apricots in water.
Blossoming teas are sold by weight. Two ounces = 5-8 blossoms. Four ounces = 10-16 blossoms.
BREWING GUIDE
Use a single blossom for a 12 to 16 ounce teapot. Pre-warm the teapot and steep at 205 F until the blossom fully opens. Alternatively, single servings can be brewed in a glass infuser cup, but at a reduced steep time (1 min 30 sec.)
